Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 26, 2026

SignalVote ("we", "our", or "us") operates the SignalVote platform, a campaign management application for political canvassing and voter outreach. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website, web application, and mobile application (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Campaign Data: Voter contact information, canvassing notes, task assignments, shift schedules, and team memberships that you create or are assigned within a campaign.
  • Calendar Data: If you choose to connect your Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook calendar, we access your calendar event data (event titles, times, and locations) to display alongside your campaign schedule and to create campaign events on your calendar. See Section 4 for details.
  • Usage Data: Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps to maintain and improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
  • To manage your account and campaign memberships.
  • To sync your campaign shifts and tasks with your connected calendar, so you have a unified view of your schedule.
  • To detect and prevent scheduling conflicts between personal and campaign events.
  • To send you campaign notifications and updates you have opted into.
  • To improve and optimize the Service.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following circumstances:

  • Within Your Campaign: Campaign managers and team leads can see campaign-related data (assignments, shifts, task progress) for members of their campaign.
  • Service Providers: We use third-party services (hosting, email delivery, analytics) under strict confidentiality agreements to operate the Service.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Google Calendar Integration

If you connect your Google Calendar, the following applies:

  • What we access: We request permission to read your calendar list (so you can choose which calendars to sync), read and write calendar events (to display your events and create campaign shift/task events), and read your email address (to confirm which account is connected).
  • How we use it: Calendar data is used solely to display your events alongside campaign activities, create campaign events on your calendar, and detect scheduling conflicts. We do not use your calendar data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the Service.
  • Storage: We store OAuth tokens (encrypted) to maintain your calendar connection. We cache calendar event data to provide the sync functionality. We do not permanently store the content of your personal calendar events.
  • Sharing: Your calendar data is never shared with third parties, other campaigns, or other users. Only you can see your personal calendar events within the Service.
  • Revocation: You can disconnect your Google Calendar at any time from your account settings. This immediately stops all access to your calendar data and deletes stored tokens. You can also revoke access from your Google Account permissions.

SignalVote's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest, encrypted storage of OAuth tokens, and role-based access controls. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and campaign data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Calendar sync data is cached temporarily and refreshed regularly. When you delete your account or disconnect a calendar, associated data is removed promptly.

7. Your Rights

  • Access: You can request a copy of your personal data by contacting us.
  • Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Disconnect Integrations: You can disconnect Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook at any time from your account settings.
  • Opt-Out: You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
